James Albert Varney Jr. was born in Lexington, Kentucky, USA on June 15, 1949. He was best known for portraying the title character of Ernest in all of his Ernest films. He was also known for voice portraying Slinky in Toy Story and Toy Story 2'. He passed away back in February 10, 2000 at the age of 50 from lung cancer. His last major voice portraying role was Cookie Farnsworth in Atlantis the Lost Empire. Blake Clark replaced him as the new voice for Slinky in Toy Story 3' and Toy Story Toons.
